Carbon steel gaskets are strong, cost-effective sealing solutions ideal for high-pressure and high-temperature industrial applications. Made from low, medium, or high carbon content steel, these gaskets offer excellent mechanical strength, thermal resistance, and are often used in steam systems, boilers, pipelines, valves, and flanges where corrosion is minimal or controlled.
Unlike stainless steel, which contains chromium for enhanced corrosion resistance, carbon steel is more prone to rust when exposed to moisture or chemicals. However, it excels in applications where structural integrity, pressure handling, and cost-efficiency are the priority — especially in environments where corrosion protection is already built into the system or where gaskets are replaced regularly.
