Nitrile gaskets (Buna-N) are oil-resistant rubber seals widely used in fuel, oil, and chemical applications due to their excellent resistance to petroleum-based fluids. How nitrile gaskets differ from PTFE and EPDM:

Compared to PTFE (Teflon): Nitrile offers better flexibility and compression sealing, while PTFE is more rigid but provides superior chemical resistance and higher temperature tolerance. PTFE is ideal for aggressive chemicals, while nitrile is preferred for fuel and oil sealing.

Compared to EPDM: Nitrile is not suitable for outdoor or UV exposure, unlike EPDM, which excels in weather, ozone, and water resistance. EPDM is ideal for HVAC and outdoor applications, while nitrile is the go-to for petroleum-based environments.
